Bull on Bell Street Reopening After Major Refurbishment

Our flagship Honeycomb House and a House that really is at the heart of Brakspear, The Bull on Bell Street (Henly on the Thames) is due to reopen in early May. Having been closed since the start of March for a major refurb both inside and out, we’re very excited to show off The Bull’s new look.

The Bull closed on Sunday 6th March and will reopen on Monday 9th May. The extensive changes include improvements to the large rear garden, with a new retractable roof allowing guests to soak up the summer sun, the addition of a private dining/meeting room and new letting rooms in a nearby property, as well as a complete refresh of the interior décor and exterior façade.

Originally opened in 2013, The Bull stands on the site of the original Brakspear brewery, dating back to 1779. It has become one of Henley’s favourite pubs for an after-work pint or cocktail, a bite to eat or to celebrate an occasion with friends or family. With warmer days approaching, its large rear garden is the perfect pitch for summer drinks and al fresco dining.

Improvements to The Bull also cater for the many overnight and weekend visitors to Henley, with new accommodation opening in a nearby property in the summer, as an addition to the Doll’s House, a townhouse behind The Bull with four boutique bedrooms and its own garden terrace.

As well as a whole new look and feel, The Bull also have a new menu inspired by the essence of spring. A few of the team’s favorites include Chargrilled British asparagus, Mount Grace Farm steak, vegan coconut cream panna cotta, and lobster bisque macaroni cheese. All the dishes are carefully prepared by top chefs using the very best ingredients, so whether you fancy a vegan quinoa grain bowl or a Great British Wagyu burger, there’s something to suit every pallet.
