Assistant Manager

Not only are our Assistant Managers well organised and ambitious, they’re also a delight to have onboard with their ability to motivate colleagues, ensure customer service standards are kept high at all times and help to maintain a happy working environment. Think you’ve got what it takes to help run the show in one of our handsome homesteads? Our ideal candidate would be passionate about our pub and always be on the lookout for ways to elevate our service, standards and reputation.

The role involves:

  • Assisting the General Manager in the day to day running of the business
  • Creating a customer focussed environment where service comes first
  • Duty Manager shifts including opening, closing & cash up process
  • Leading shift briefings and organising team for daily service
  • Leading team training sessions
  • Maximising & maintaining operational standards
  • Preparing and presenting team rotas with a focus on achieving budgeted % levels
  • Contributing to stock control, ordering & yield management
  • Contributing ideas for promotions & marketing activities
  • Assisting in compliance with health & safety legislation and licensing laws in line with company policy
  • Participation in regular business related training sessions

    Qualifications

    • A degree/HND in a related subject, business, management, hospitality or hotel & catering
    • Basic Food Hygiene
    • First Aid

    • Confidence and communication skills
    • Commercial and financial awareness
    • Industry and product knowledge
    • Leadership and organisational skills
    • IT, Computer & EPOS skills
    • Strong personal presentation
  • Previous Roles
    • Customer service to minimum supervisory level within a well established business
    • Food & beverage experience, therefore understanding the concept of a pub with a strong food offer
    • Depending on the site food led or wet led experience
