Moving Mountains® Burger – The Meat Alternative You Need To Try

At Honeycomb Houses we’re incredibly proud of the rich and diverse provisions our menus offer. We continuously strive to extend our offerings and include more options to cater to all palates. Whether you’re gluten free, vegetarian or vegan – we will always have something to tickle your tastebuds. Our partnership with Moving Mountains® has allowed us to expand our menu further to include their plant-based Vegan burger, and boy, it’s delicious.

The Moving Mountains® Burger needs little introduction. But if you’re not in the know, it’s a plant-based meat alternative to the British beef burger. Fully loaded with plant protein and irresistible juiciness, it’s easy to see why it’s been praised by top chefs across the UK. Developed to satisfy meat cravings and fool even the most dedicated carnivores – this succulent burger is 100% plant based. Or as Moving Mountains® aptly put it – pure plant-powered deliciousness.

Composed of an all-natural blend of ingredients, which include; mushrooms, wheat, soya and pea proteins. What do these ingredients bring to the table? Mushroom provides the juicy, mouth-watering fibrous texture and meat-like appearance, soya & wheat bind the ingredients and providing a beautiful browning when the burger is cooked, beetroot juice gives a subtle hint of sweetness, and coconut oil delivers a dash of greasiness to fulfil those cravings. Vitamin B12 has been added to assist with the necessary daily uptake and to help those who feel they are missing out on this vitamin by not eating animal meat. The Moving Mountains® Burger contains 100% of your recommended daily allowance of B12, which is more than your average quarter pound beef burger.

What makes the Moving Mountains® Burger so special? Well, apart from the exquisite taste it’s incredibly good for you and the environment. It’s packed full of plant protein, vitamin B12 and a whole host of natural ingredients – with zero cholesterol to boot. This succulent burger is 100% free of hormones, antibiotics and GMO ingredients. Most importantly, it’s certified vegan by The Vegan Society.

Furthermore, it scores major brownie points in terms of sustainability. In comparison to a beef burger of the same weight, it generates less greenhouse gas emissions and requires less resources to make. The packaging is 100% plastic-free and recyclable too.

Who are Moving Mountains®? The company was formally founded by Simeon Van der Molen in 2016. He came up with the concept in 2014 after being diagnosed with high cholesterol. He faced two choices: cut out meat and dairy or go on statins. Underwhelmed with the lack of appetising meat alternatives available, Simeon decided to focus his energies on developing meat alternatives that taste, look, smell and hit the spot like animal meat. Simeon worked alongside a team of food consultants and technologists for two years. They used cutting edge innovations in food technology to develop the UK’s first plant-based “bleeding” Burger that was equivalent to meat in every way. The Burger became an instant success and is now widely available in thousands of places across the globe – including our Honeycomb Houses.

The story doesn’t stop there, Simeon continues to create more plant-based meat products which have been widely applauded by both the media and consumers alike.

Moving Mountains® have consistently developed delectable meat alternatives which are both beneficial in terms of health and the environment. What’s more, their products aren’t just for the vegan audience, they are perfect for flexitarians aiming to decrease their meat consumption too.
You can find the incredible Moving Mountains® burger at all of our Honeycomb Houses. Served with fresh gem lettuce, juicy beef tomato, crunchy red onions, a soft farmhouse bun and crispy skin-on seasoned fries. What are you waiting for?
