Taste Tradition – From Field To Plate

If you peruse any of the Honeycomb Houses menus, you’ll notice our commitment to procuring only the finest locally sourced ingredients. When it comes to our sumptuous selection of meats, we only buy from the best – Taste Tradition

Founded in 2004, Taste Tradition connects the farmer and the master butcher in a special partnership to supply the highest quality meat products from field to plate. Nestled in the North York Moors National Park you will find the Ashbridge family. They have farmed in Cold Kirby for three generations using the traditional methods of breeding, rearing and finishing livestock.

The Taste Traditions farms are home to an exceptional array of animals. Their whopping range of cattle includes; Longhorn, Shorthorn, Aberdeen Angus, Red Poll, Dexter, Hereford, Galloway, Belted Galloway, Welsh, and Irish Moiled cattle. They also keep Saddleback, Gloucester Old Spot and Welsh pigs and Texel and Suffolk sheep. These breeds were chosen because they are better suited to outdoor rearing and quite simply, taste delicious.

The proof is in the pudding and Taste Tradition is no exception, their customer list includes many of the country’s best chefs and restaurateurs – with a large number of celebrity chefs to boot. They also supply some of London’s biggest attractions such as the Royal Academy of Art and Kew Gardens.

Taste Tradition believes their success stems from their commitment to animal welfare, traditional farming methods and high quality, flavoursome real produce. The many industry awards they have won both locally and nationally are testament to the quality of their products and service. They operate their own family farms and work in partnership with a network of local trusted farmers and abattoirs. This allows them to guarantee animal welfare and traceability at every stage of production.

Their vast experience in native breeds and traditional farming methods enables them to provide a broad variety of end products. So, who better to provide us with our beef, pork and lamb? Their mouth-watering offerings adorn the menus of our Honeycomb Houses, cooked to perfection by our masterful chef’s.
If you like the sound of hand-reared hearty British fare, why not book a table at one of our Honeycomb Houses for the finest dining experience.
